In 2008, Germany's Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)- wbk Institute of Production Technology established GAMI Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute in China. Most of the team members come from KIT, Aachen University of Technology, Berlin University of Technology, Tsinghua University, Tongji University and other famous universities at home and abroad. As a knowledge-intensive institution, it has maintained a long-term cooperative relationship with the domestic manufacturing industry and enjoys a high reputation, and is committed to serving the domestic users with the applied research results of wbk global production system.
GAMI officially moved to Suzhou Industrial Park in 2011, and KIT China Research Institute was inaugurated in 2014 to apply wbk's research results to the Chinese market. On this basis, it provides project and training support to Chinese and German partners in the fields of production efficiency, quality, supply chain management and industrial 4.0, including applied research projects, bilateral industrial projects, training projects and exchange student projects. In addition, the Institute also has a Sino-German Industrial 4.0 Technology Exhibition Innovation Center and a Sino-German Artificial Intelligence Innovation Workshop, which aims to promote the application practice of intelligent manufacturing and the incubation of Sino-German cooperation projects, and help the manufacturing transformation and development of domestic partners.
