Heidelberg Heidelberg

Heidelberg is located in the economically developed state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It is located on the picturesque Neckar River. The city is surrounded by mountains and is known as "one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Germany".

Heidelberg, known for its rich cultural heritage and peaceful and romantic atmosphere, was once the spiritual center of Germany's late romanticism and Calvinism. Since 2014, Heidelberg has been awarded the honorary title of "UNESCO City of Literature. Germany's oldest university, the University of Heidelberg (Universit Heidelberg), is also established here. This school is internationally renowned for its academic achievements and research standards, and was recognized as the first in the list of Germany's best universities in 2017.

In addition to tradition and romance, the name Heidelberg stands for modern business and scientific research with an international reputation. Traditional universities, the Academy of Sciences, the German Cancer Research Center, the four Max Planck Institutes, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the Heidelberg School of Printing Mechanics, the SAS Institute, and many other large international companies are located in Heidelberg. This scientific density is unparalleled in Germany and is the basis for a dynamic, science-oriented economic development that has placed Heidelberg, despite a population of only 150000, at the forefront of Germany's major economic centers.
